As for Avy, I recommend the following:
As she seems to be quite young still I hope she can take the time to learn English very very well. If she hopes to really become an actress in Hollywood then learning English should be her biggest priority in life. She should be reading books, magazines, webpages, speaking, typing english on MSN, meeting new ABC friends, make friends with TAS students… EVERYTHING. She can then look into summer school programs at the numerous Universities in Southern California.
I recommend she do this so she can see what Southern California is really like. It is not at all like you see on TV or movies. It can be a very difficult place to get used to. When she is there she should take advantage of her time and look into acting classes. There she will meet other young people who also share her dreams and maybe she can gain from their experiences. In the future she should look into enrolling in one of the many performing arts schools in LA and she will learn everything she needs; going to auditions, acting lessons, acting coaches, getting an agent, etc.
Above all the most important step is going to Southern California and looking around. She needs to BE there and be surrounded by people who share her dream. To get there she needs to make sure her English is as good as it could possibly be. English = priority number ONE. None of the things in the future (performing arts school, acting lessons, etc) will be possible if her English is not good enough.
